hi all, this is my first app to go public so i would really appreciate any comments.

accMouse is a an app making it possible to use a phone with accelerometer as a mouse in linux X window system. so practically it is something like a simple NiiMe clone for linux.

the phone app is written for PyS60 version 1.9.2 and it is pretty straight forward bluetooth communication and sensor data reading. the UI definetly needs improving.

the app to run on linux is also written in python but has a C-component for generating fake mouse events for X. that's why there are different versions for 32- and 64-bit systems (binaries and source included).

i have tested accMouse with my 5800XM and Ubuntu 8.10, both 32- and 64-bit versions, and it seems to work. featurelist isn't that great yet, you can move the cursor and perform single left-clicks. check it out and comment, if you can get it to run.

Have you heard about amora ? May be useful for your project.
When I turn on my Linux machine I give it a try.

oh, i didn't know about amora.. it looks a bit more mature than my version, but it doesn't use the accelerometer i believe? i will test it when i get a chance.

btw i have used the same technique (XTest) as amora to generate mouse events.
