I was just curious, is it possible to compile pys60 applications to native symbian code, so that it is no longer independent from the interpreter?

Not yet possible !

However, you can make an standalone application - which would include the PyS60 runtime and extensions (if any) as well.

Search for PyS60 Community Edition.
