Hi, does anybody know at what time the jsr-82 will be implemented in phones supporting J2ME by default? And hasn't Nokia already developed an experimental environment where I can set up a Bluetooth connection within J2ME?
Thnx. |

Nokia currently provides only development environment for Bluetooth applications written in C++ (for Series 60), as Nokia has not announced any phones with Java API for Bluetooth (JSR-82).

Is there any particular reason why Nokia phones does not implement JSR-82? Is it coming in the near future?

|
Are there going to be some developer tools available for J2ME BT, in advance of a device becoming available, or being announced?

|
Anyone? Devices are expected when? SDK tools?

JSR 82 Final release was published on 22 Mar 2003 already, why there is still no java api for bluetooth? When will the api be published by Nokia?

Nokia 6600 supports JSR-82. It was released on 16th June 2003.

When will Nokia have some developer tools so people can actually write JSR-82 application for the 6600??
I know there are 3rd party tools, but they are 2,500 (UK Pounds!!!) too much for me! |

See http://www.forum.nokia.com/nds_for_j2me.html for further information on MIDP 2.0 development tools.

I know the 6600 supports JSR-82, and I know about the Nokia MIDP 2.0 SDK. However, there is no mention of any support in the SDK for this API, even though the phone supports it! Can you point me in the direction of some information on how to use this in the SDK? I have read all the documention that comes with the SDK from top to bottom, and the user guide for the SDK. No mention of JSR-82, or how to use it in the SDK, appears anywhere!
I like may other developers are keen to start coding for this api of the 6600, but without a development tool for this, it is not possible! Please advise of how to progress? Having an API in a devices is pretty pointless is you can't write application to use it! |
