Please, please, please! Can anybody help me?
I am a bit of a pc beginner and I am currently going crazy trying to connect my 7650 to my pc via mrouter. I have installed the software and the usb dongle. I have, in fact successfully sent some test data from my pc to my 7650 through BlueManager (so I know my dongle works at least!!) Can anybody give me a user friendly step by step guide to getting my 7650 and pc "connected" on the mrouter. I would be very grateful if you could. Sorry if this is going over VERY old ground. Thanks for your time, and hopefully, your help. Andrew |

Hi,
Just to let you know, you are not alone with your problem. The only suggestion that I have is to bring up the connection properties dialog, for the mRouter. Then deselect all the boxes. Wait a few moments a select them all (Not cable or IR). With a bit of luck one of the COM ports will connect. My device always connects on COM port4, when it decides to. Also ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on the device and that Bluetooth is selected in the Nokia Connections Manager (I've currently selected both Bluetooth & USB in the NCM). Good Luck |

Hi Andrew
Does this help at all? http://www.whoozoo.co.uk/bt7650t9kgprs.htm#2 [Section 2 deals with getting the PC Suite (i.e. mrouter) to connect] As a_barbs is implying: the mrouter / PC Suite connectivity is quite flakey, and it (usually) takes a few attempts (and re-attempts) to get it to connect. Also note that, where my notes talk about COM7, a_barbs talks about COM4 - it all depends on what your PC's Bluetooth setup is... But hopefully from a generic perspective my notes can help you solve your problem. Good luck. |

Basically you have to establish a Bluetooth serial port connection from the Bluetooth program and then enable the same port in the mRouter. After that the PC Suite should work.
The order of these procedures may vary depending on the Bluetooth solution you are using. In Digianswer stack based solutions you have to establish serial port connection first. In some USB solutions you just open PC Suite (and enable the right port in mRouter) and after that Bluetooth software connects to serial port automatically. Please check that there are not any other programs already reserving the COM port you are using (other PC Suites or PC Connectivity solutions, for example). Seppo Forum Nokia |
