Hi Experts,

Please put some light over this thread
http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=172123

Here somebody says that after signing the midlet an option in permission for reading and writing data in suite settings of application automatically added.

Means
Before Signing the MIDLET : Options for reading and writing data in suite settings :
1. not allowed
2. always ask

After Signing the MIDLET : Options for reading and writing data in suite settings :
1. not allowed
2. always ask
3. always allow.

Is this true?

thanks,
jitu_goldie..

This will depend on the device, and on the signature. But, yes, in general there are more options like this when the MIDlet is "trusted".

as Graham states a signed midlet (on a device that actually supports the signing instance) will have more "loose" options... That means that being it trusted it will have some more liberty's regarding acces to data without having to ask user permission all the time...
This information is pretty common though and is actually the reason why people sign their apps...
