Hello,
I am an intern. I have to do a symbian s60 program which scan all WLAN access point, connect and switch from one to another access point. I've started developing with Carbide C++ (Symbian c++) but I have some difficulties with this language. As I'm more comfortable with java, I want to try developing on netbeans with s60 SDK for J2ME. My internship tutor said that I will maybe have difficulties accessing low layers if I'm developping on java instead of C++. But he is not sure. Is it true? What are the principal differences between the two languages in this case? Thank you for your help. (I'm french, so sorry if I made some mistakes in english) |

He is right, in J2ME there is no distinction from WLAN and or GPRS, it's all just a Connection to the developer...
This means that you wont be able to "jump" from on WLAN to the other, you won't even be able to "read" the WLAN's name for that matter... |

Thank you.
Ok, I guess I have to get used to symbian C++!! Do you have any tutorials about WLAN or anything that could help me start. |

nope,
but i;m sure they do have them in the Symbian(C++) department of this forum ;) |
