Well, since I'm looking for information on how to connect my 7650 with Bluetooth, I find a lot of information... And now, I know what is my first problem. In fact in MRouter, i've only 1 Port, IR Port, and nothing else, no Com 1, no other one... And so I can't connect cause I haven't com for it. I use 1,20 Pc Suite, cause I use XP...

So if anybody know anything about this problem, or a new version where I can see com port, please answer me.

Thx

I have a similar problem with the 7650 and my BT hardware. Actually, I've got a desktop PC and a laptop, both running W2K SP3 and both with BT adapters manufactured by 3Com. The desktop PC is connected to the USB version of the adapter whereas the laptop is equipped with a PC card. On the desktop PC only COM1 and COM2 show up in the 'Connection Properties'. However, on the laptop all COM ports are listed including the virtual ports provided by the 3Com software ('Unknown - Not connected'). What's going on here? I e-mailed Nokia service and they told me the 3Com might not be BT 1.1 compliant and it hadn't been approved by Nokia for use with the 7650 anyway. Huh? So how come I can send files to and fro just fine? And how come the Readme.txt accompanying the PC Suite mentions my very BT USB adapter, pointing out how to properly configure it (been there, done that, got the t-shirt). Sorry Nokia, I'm not buying that and I don't think that 3Com are to blame for my problem hooking up the 7650 to the Nokia PC Suite.

Hi. This is directed mainly at people who have purchased the mitsumi usb adapter although may help other people aswell.

Ok. The Mistsumi adapter, although cheap (£23.50) has crappy software. The solution: Use someone elses.

First of all, remove your old BT (bluetooth) software and nokia datasuite > Reboot.

Next get yourself a copy of RFI/Anycoms software from

HERE

This is the latest version and should work with most adapters as nearly all (TDK, ACER, 3COM, etc.) usb adapters are almost the same. They also use the same software made by a company called widcomm.

So, why cant you use any of these companies software?? Well you used to be able to until the most recent version(1,3,2,7) when widcomm added a "license.dat" file which prevents other people hardware, HOWEVER, for some reason RFI's software dosent have this.

Now install the software. Once you've done that go to the bin folder where you just installed the software (default C:\Program Files\Anycom\Anycom Bluetooth USB\bin) and open the file btwusb.inf (default thisC:\Program Files\Anycom\Anycom Bluetooth USB\bin\btwusb.inf
open it with notepad.

This file will tell windows what drivers to install.
Find the line VID_044e&PID_3001
there should be two, replace them with this:
VID_03EE&PID_641F
(if you use the mitsumi adapter, otherwise check here)

save the file and close it.

Now you can insert your adapter and wait for it to install.
If it installs automatically read on, if not got to **

Goto your device manager, for win xp: right-click on M Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > and then device manager.

once here, scroll down to the usb section and go to update driver.

** The Add new hardware wizard will pop up. Select you want to choose a location for the drivers and go to the bin directory from earlier (default C:\Program Files\Anycom\Anycom Bluetooth USB\bin)

click next/whatever and finish the wizard. Your adapter will now be installed as "Anycom Bluetooth USB Driver" in the device manager.

Now you should have a working set of software to go with your adapter.

Set up the bluetooth software, enableing serial port connection. You should now have two ports mine are COM5 and COM6.
Next pair your phone and the software.

Install nokia data suite, then go to mRouter and tick off the two ports, ensuring you have your phone bluetooth enabled and within ten metres. Your phone should automatically connect and ask whether youd like to make the connection, chooses yes.

Sometimes it helps to have the BT software window open sometimes, you usually just have to play to get it to work as nokia sux!!

This works with my 7650.

Any help/questions, just ask.

Also try these sites, although you will have to use a translator!! :

Inteco,

Just wondered, could you mail me the link for the RFI/Anycoms software please as it isn't showing in your post.

Many thanks

Phil
