Hi,

I'm new to J2ME and have probably missed something quite trivial.

I've built Sun's demo's as came with Sun's WTK1.04 toolkit.

On my Nokia 7650 phone, I installed the application and ran it to play arround with the networking and bits. Upon selecting to either GET or POST, I get the choice of how to connect, so I choose the normal WAP connection, and nothing happens.

After investigating closer I find the application blocking on the line of getting an input stream from the connection.
I've tried waiting for a little while, but nothing!

Can somebody tell me why?

Maybe you have some code connecting to the http protocol that works on the 7650 phone?
If so, could you show me how you've got yours working please?

I have the same configuration in use and the same problem, Nokia 7650 with GSM Analog Data connection over Kanel 1.2.1 WAP Gateway. The sample from Sun that you have tried, and the Network Midlet Sample from Nokia Forum produces the IOException: Status =-9 when httpconnection is used.

Could the problem be in the network not supporting http or something?

Your phone might require that the http connection is done in a separate thread. The exmpamples in WTK1.04 probably doesn't do that.
