With the introduction of the new USB based pop-port cable it would appear that all platforms other than Win32 are excluded from using it. There are no drivers for WinCE support (note WinCE NOT PocketPC or derivatives). There are now no phones with support for the old serial connectivity cable so that option has evaporated.
Therefore, unless I use a PCMCIA card phone (which many WinCE systems won't physically support) there is no way of connecting a Nokia phone to a WinCE system. I really can't understand this attitude. Please tell me that WinCE (and others OS) drivers are on the way..... C. |

Thank you. What a thoroughly useful response. I'll be sure to come back here time and time again to get all my technical questions answered. Club Nokia is another fantastically useful resource. (So useful in fact that one of the people in your trade stand at a recent conference laughed when I told him I'd tried Club Nokia. "They don't know anything....." was his reply.)
Given there is no other forum for my question I thought I would try here. What an utter wast of time. You couldn't even be bothered to give me a more appropriate place to try. Thanks again for your response. :-((((((((((( |

Hi Colin, it seems like they also exclude the non-Wintel user base as well. Those of us
who invested in DKU-5 cables, on non-Wintel systems (Apple et al) are waiting here wondering what to do; Larry. |
