on March 11, 2002 at 11:09 What is the definition of a SMS bearer? I come across this term several times while reading the documentation for Nokia Activ Server. Is SMS bearer a software application which I download and install on my machine? Or is it a piece of hardware which I fit in my CPU box? Or does it represent an entity which generally handles the delivering of SMS to its subscribers? |

on March 18, 2002 at 19:18 The SMS Bearer is part of the activ server. If you go to the Traffic Broker, you will have the option to add a bearer. There are a few ways you can do this, via a mobile telephone plugged into the pc, or via a service provided by a mobile telephone network. Once you have added the bearer go through the options below reading the meaning of each one and enter the relavent information where aplicable. The SMS bearer in the activ server is an application that passes the SMS requests to a sms provider/phone. Hope this helps. |
