i have a 3650, bt dongle and running xp

i installed all the software and then paired my phone and my PC. that worked ok. i can also send and recieve file using the Widcomm suite.

when i installed the nokia 3650 datasuite and tried to run it, it says the phone is not connected and the MRouter would only connect by infrared and nothing else. i dont even have a IRDA port on my computer.

has any1 else found this problem that only the infrared connection comes up?

i have mapped a serial port connection with the widcomm software to com12, but that cant be seen by mrouter?

please help.

There are 2 ways I have found to establish the serial connection - the first is right clicking on the BT Places icon on the taskbar, and selecting The appropriate serial port in Quick Connect.

The second is to browse My Computer and find the serial port and right click and connect.

For some reasons, these two methods are different:

Taskbar method - connects fine, but once connected you can no longer use the systray icon to disconnect. If the phone goes out or range and comes back in, you cannot re-establish the connection. And finally, the systray program crashes on logout.

My Computer Method - Generates an error message immediately after connection, but apart from that, works fine.

i'll see how that works, but im tempted just to buy a IRDA <=> USB cable and use that and give the bluetooth back.

thank for the info
