You're not dull! This is neat gadgetry.

I have all the exact same things (except I am on winXP pro) including the Belkin USB adaptor and I have all the same problems. The connection manager doesn't even recognize the BT capability.

I upgraded the PC Suite to 5.05 and this worked better in that the connection manager recognizes the BT connection and finds the phone. But still no ability to do any phone management over BT. The connection crashes with an error.

I have full phone controll over IR so I am pretty sure the problem is in connection manager.

There are reports here onthe Disc.Board of this working if you have the exact right combination of drivers for the USB dongle, phone firmware (5.5)and PC Suite version (5.05) but so far I have found nothing which can make it work.

Now - how much does this matter. Well I have all of the bluetooth phone functionality working outside of PC Suite. I can dial in over the modem from my laptop to the phone and scan the internet - which is why I got damn thing in the first place. Given I can manage the phone over IR I am not too bugged by the crappy PC Suite and Connection manager issues - I wish it worked but oh well.

Now headset wise I am much more pissed - it seems the Nokia bluetooth headset is the only one that will work reliably with the phone. I have tried Plantronics and Jabbra and neither can sustain a pairing connection with the phone. Very annoying. Forced by Nokia to buy the Nokia Headset.

Hope you get it working satisfactorily for you.

Just upgraded to firmware 5.50 and the BT still does not work with PC Suite 4.88.

I shall not buy Nokia next time. Absolutely fed up with their "propietry" bluetooth. Feel missold and pised off. Nokia support is insulting. They just don't seem to want to care.

Await PC Suite 243.33 released in 2035 - but by that time I shall be a happt T68 owner!

DOES ANYONE ON NOKIA EVER ACCESS THIS FORUM?

I´m trying for days to connect my 7650 with PC Suite (1.2.0) and nothing happens. No sucess and I´m a System Administrator and software developer!!!

I´m using a 3Com 3CREB96 Bluetooth adapter that wotks fine on a WinXP Pro. (It should. I´ve paid 200US$ for it - just as expensive as the 7650).

I DID NOT see anything from NOKIA telling us how to fix this issue.

I need to make this PC Suite work. I´ve exchanged my old palm for this cellphone ´cause i wanted to have calendar, to do list and my contacts on the go and a mobile phone on the same equipament.

If I can´t make PC Suite works, I can´t synchronyze with my Outlook. If I can´t do it, this high technology 7650 model just doesn´t worth my money or my time.

I always trusted NOKIA for the best mobiles ever.

I guess it just isn´t anymore.

The Belkin Bluetooth adapters will work with the Nokia 3650.
Download the connection guide here (835KB)

You may also request the guide by emailing techsupp@belkin.com

Bluetoothian your link doesn't work.

There are some issues with Belkin BT products, they kept changing their software when the original software was working with minor flaws. their updates never fixed anything and actually were counter-productive. Now software overseas on the phones is different from what we have here in the US so the update of firmware may apply over there but shouldn't be necessary here.

The important steps (for any BT device) are:
pair from PC, connect serial port from bluetooth manager on PC, and in connection manager select bluetooth and the com port the bluetooth manager is using for the serial port connection. this should allow the device to connect and PC suite to work.

After *much* dinking around, I finally got the BT working with a D-Link DBT-120 and my 6310i with the 5.50 firmware. I'm not sure I can even begin to adequately describe the pain.

First, the bottom line: it's not worth the hassle. If you were expecting it to actually *do* anything halfway reasonable, you'll be disappointed. I'm sure it'll work as a BT modem, but I'm only interested in the Syncing part.

First, get the BT software talking to the phone, and set up the pairing. There's plenty of notes on that elsewhere, so I won't bore you. But until BT recognizes the phone, the Nokia software is useless. Leave the phone turned on for now.

Once you have the BT & phone talking, completely uninstall the PCSuite software (or do that first). Reboot. Then reinstall from scratch. Reboot. Do not deviate from the previous unless you want to be pulling out your hair. Remember you're using version 4.88.

Back in BT Neighbourhood, under your phone, you should see a "Nokia PC Suite" service. Right-click, choose Properties and note the COM port assigned to that service (COM6 in my case).

Open up Connection Manager and select the Bluetooth connection. Double click on "Nokia Bluetooth Phone", and in the dialog that pops up select the COM port you noted previously. After a few moments the phone should say it's connected to your PC, a green icon will appear in Connection Manager, and in BT Neighbourhood the "Nokia PC Suite" service will show Connected.

So here's the rub: If you turn off your phone, then turn it back on, Connection Manager will *not* notice that the phone is back in range. You have to do the last step above *again*, even selecting the COM port. For some reason Connection Manager doesn't actually try to notice that the phone is available, or even remember what COM port you had set before. I don't know if there's a registry setting to persuade it to work, but I'm looking.

Oh, and for fun I tried Oxygen Phone Manager 2.1.3 (trial). *It* works with the Bluetooth stuff just fine, even automatically detecting when the phone is turned on (or back in range). Unfortunately the synchronization part of OPM is still a bit weak.
