Hi Seppo,
I have about the same needs of this thread: would you please advise how could we establish a Serial connection with the Nokia 3650 through Bluetooth? When my phone connects with the PC Suite, is there a Serial connection active? I mean, does PC Suite talk with Nokia 3650 through a Serial connection? In this case how can I use such connection once I see my mRouter displaying that the phone is connected? Many thanks in advance! |

PC Suite uses a Bluetooth serial port connection. You can create a server side application on the PC and then a client application on phone.
PointToPoint example describes how to implement the application on phone. On PC side the application just have to connect to a COM port which is then used by the Bluetooth unit of your PC. Seppo Forum Nokia |

Bemused application could be useful. There are both PC and phone side implementations available as a source code as well.

I took off the flag on port COM4 (used my Bluetooth dongle) so my PC application can use it.
When the phone connects, I receive some bytes on that connection but I'm not able to understand what it's saying! It seems some kind of handshaking, infact it waits for some seconds and then closes the Bluetoot connection... Is there some info about this messages my phone is sending in this virtual serial port? Many many thanks in advance!!! |

Hi Bluetooth,
yes, surely it could be useful if I wish to develop phone applications, but for the moment I'd only like to use the AT commands available on my 3650 phone. So the application I want to develop will only be a PC application (surely written in Python!). I noticed that taking off the flag on COM4 in mRouter let me connect with the COM4 port, so I can see the phone... but I cannot understand what I see! ![]() I will take a look at the Bemused application code to see if it uses the SER profile to communicate and, in case, what kind of info are sent by the phone to the PC when connecting. Many thanks! |
