I run exactly the suggested bluetooth environment:

Windows 2000
Series 60 SDK 1.0
Socket Bluetoth CF Card installed exactly how described in "Setting up bluetooth environment" (com3)

But if I try to test the connection (send a txt-File with notepad) the emulator crashes afer saying "yes" to "Bluetooth is currently switched of, switch on?"

If I run the bt-examples (e.g. btdiscovery) the message "system error" afer saying "yes" to "Bluetooth is currently switched of, switch on?"

If I run the btadvertiser example other devices cannot find the bt-card.

compiling works without problems.

I don't have any idea what to do now.
Can the emulator communicate with other bt-devices too, or only with nokia mobile phones?

Can you help me ?

There has recently been a silent change in Socket card hardware. The new cards with part number 8510-00159 G do not work with the emulator. The older cards with number 8510-00159 F work. You can check the number from the revision letter in the back of the card.

This will be corrected into our documents.

It is very disappionting, that after studiing nokia.forum.com fo 4 weeks now, and buying a 200 Euro- Hardware, that nokia didn't change the Documents and/or posted a thread into the forum.

What can I do for bluetooth development now?
Do I have a chance to use the DFL-1 Card from Nokia? (We still have one)
Are there any plans to change the SDK's to fit the new hardware?
Or ist the only possibility to buy a Nokia 7650-Phone and test the software directly on the phone (without debugging)??

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Johannes Clauss

Try with DTL-1, it might work. We are currently investigating new Bluetooth HW for the SDK.

seppo, I've been debating whether to write a shim that converts USB HCI to RS-232 HCI. There's a crude example in the Microsoft WINXP DDK, although it doesn't implement the HCI protocols. Don't even know if it will work, but it would be cool if it did.

Can you tell me if the Bluetooth stack in the emulator accesses the DTL-1 through BIOS calls, or goes directly to the hardware?
