I have written a WAP push initiator to send a push-message to the PPG. I was wondering if there is a simulation that I can send to see a device actually get the alert I am sending? If so, does it give a PPG URL to post to and a sim device phone number/address?

Hi,
You need to have a connection to a real PPG to be able to get the message to a real terminal. Forum Nokia offers a possibility for you to get a connection to a real PPG. The service is unfortunately available only in the Europe - Africa region at the moment and it is a priced service and it costs 200 EUR / 2 months. You can find more information about the service under the "Developer Support" link in the Forum Nokia web site. If you do not need a real terminal you can use Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit and Phone SDKs, both of those can be downloaded from Forum Nokia web site. When you are using a real PPG you need to use PPG's URL to post to and usually you use terminal's MSISDN (phone number) in the address field. Best Regards, Jori / Forum Nokia |

Thanks for your help Jori.
One more question? I have the NMIT and Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator running. I would like to try pushing an alert from my own push initiator to the Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator and on to the handset emulator I am running through NMIT? The problem is I do not know a "fake" URL and phone address that the Gateway Simulator listens to and could then relay to my phone emulator. I realize when using a real PPG I need a PPG URL and terminal phone number. This is what I would like to test before I go to the real world and pay for access to a real PPG. Does the Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator not provide this service? Or is there another simulation that can provide this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. T.J. |

The Nokia WAP Gateway Emulator does not act as a PPG, so you have to use a real one. Except the Europe - Africa area, you now can also apply for the service in China, Asia.
If you do not have a real device that supports WAP push, you can use the NMBS 4.0 to receive the push. You only need to modify your PI application to send the push to the IP address on which the NMBS4.0 running. |

What do you mean NMBS 4.0?
