Being new to Mobile world I have a confusion about some basic concept. As i think the browsing capabilites vary from mobile to mobile. Some support more fun objects(tones, images, screesaver etc) while other less. Please correct me where i am wrong.

There are protocols like GSM, AMPS, PCS, CDMA, TDMA, FDMA etc. Now does a gateway support all of them (which are capable of WAP, as AMPS is not). Does gateway serves all kind of protocols at same time or it operates only one specific protocol and mobile having that very protocol are entertained?

The technology of WAP Gateway is based on the specification of WAP Forum
http://www.wapforum.org/what/technical.htm
You can read from there that no specific mode of bearer is mentioned. So in principle, I would say, WAP Gateway will serve all these modes. But in the real world, different products may have different implementation.
