hello guys,

The nokia development suide converter does quite a terrible job on converting midi to byte/OTA/Xhtml, normal tones become either too low or too high, or some short notes will be lost.

Does anybody understands the byte code so that it is possible to modify it? Is it similiar to MIDI? Are there documents out there?

Any other converters other than the nokia DS one?

anyway i'm working on a 7650 so using MIDI is not possible and WAV is kinda big.

Thanks!
Jin Kai

Hi,

Could you send an example MIDI file that can't be converted properly by DNS to this discussion thread? We would like to test this function of NDS.

For the construction and definition of byte code, you could refer to the Smart Messaging specification, in which a chapter explains the OTT and byte code. The document can be downloaded from Messaging part of Forum Nokia site.

Regards,
Kui

thanx for your attention,

where do i send the midi to?

I found a way around the problem. First i convert the midi to XML (using NDS) , then i modify the XML using notepad, which is much more easier to understand. Next, i convert the XML code to byte codes, and voila its done!

Anyway just to make sure, there is no way i could change the "instrument" or the way the ring tone sounds in Nokia 7650 right?
