Hi, i was wondering if anyone knew of a framework I could use to bundle a series of png's into one png on the serverside, so that a device could receive the png 'tile' via http?

Would I somehow mash the raw bytes of each png into one byte[], or is there some other API to acheive this?

the sequence of events would be:
1) mobile client calls http servlet, askng for images 1,2,3
2) servlet receives call, dispatches to API that dynamically creates a png 'tile' of images 1,2,3
3) servlet sends png 'tile' as response
4) device processes png 'tile'

Also, is it possible for the header of the png 'tile' to contain info about the location of the bytes for each image?
