I'd like to ask if it's possible to write Java applications for Nokia Series 60 mobile phones if we are using Bluetooth technology. My task is at college to find out how to catch the signal with nokia mobile phones from an access point.
Thx for your help. Best regards Wally |

Hello. I´ve got the new APIs for bluetooth but they don´t seem to work in a real phone. I´m suspicious that these APIs are only suitable for emulation. I´m wasting a lot of time. Please tell me if you got to work it around.

Because bluetooth api include in midp 2.0, 7650 and 3650 use midp 1.0

Hello. Thank you for your response. I think that´s not the reason. I´m compiling for MIDP 1.0. The Bluetooth API is included with the classes for MIDP 1.0. (That´s what it says in the documentation). If you compile for MIDP 2.0 you have to use other package that I´m not using. Maybe I´m misunderstanding the docs...

JSR-82 is part of MIDP 2.0.
Nokia 3650 and 7650 have MIDP 1.0, Nokia 6600 will have MIDP2.0 (including Java API for Bluetooth). Seppo Forum Nokia |

I misunderstood the docs then. I´m very sad I can´t use the API for my 3650 and my 7650. I guess I´ll have to buy the newer one.
At least I won´t be wasting more time trying to use the API. Thank you all! |
