Connectivity range -

I have just recently purchased a 3650, and it is to my understanding that the maximum connection range is 10metres. If i purchase a bluetooth usb dongle with a maximum range of 100metres, will this be of any improvement over a 10metre range dongle? Will i receive a larger range then 10metre, or be assured a connection at 10 metres?
Appreciate any help, cheers
