I have seen this question going around, but to my surprise I have not seen an answer.

I have read that the 7650 does not support the BT voice profile.

My questions are :

Is Nokia allowing 3rd party developers to develop the protocol stack ?

Is the 7650 hardware capable of supporting the voice profile ?

Would it require a modification of the Symbian OS, since the SDK does not support an API for developing a new protocol stack for BT or can it be developed using the SDK ?

The Series 60 SDK provides APIs to create applications that use the existing stack. Developing protocol stack would require further APIs and documentation from Symbian. That information is usually given to licensees only.

As you probably know from the Bluetooth specification, Bluetooth audio is more or less bypassing the protocol stack and routed directly to the baseband.
