Hi
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to display a graphic beside the applications name in the folder;
at the moment it just has the default four color squares.
any help would be appriciated

You need to include a PNG file in your JAR, and a reference to it in the MIDlet-n: line of your manifest and JAD files, like:

MIDlet-1: My MIDlet, MyMIDlet.png, MyMIDlet

This will use the image MyMIDlet.png for the applications icon. I think the sample applications from Sun use a 12x12 image, but many phones will accept something larger.

You don't get to provide separate colour and mono images, so if it matters to you, you'll need to think about how your icon will look on a mono phone. Also, many phones will allow transparency in the image, but the MIDP specification does not require it.
