hi folks,

is it possible to trigger the capturing of a single image by an external event? i think so, but for the installation i have in mind i have two additional constraints:

1. it must be fast! is does not matter how long the post processing will take, but the image must be taken the very moment the trigger will be activated.

2. the capture must be triggered by some kind of extern event. actually, i plan to use a photo sensor connected to the serial port of the phone somehow.

so now my questions are, can this be done and will i find people here helping me doing so? it can be any phone, any vendor and i even may spend some money on that, hehe. i'm am myself a long time coder but i've never written any app for a phone. so i consider looking for someone giving me a head start, because i dont have time to start from scratch. the whole undertaking is not of commercial nature, no product, no sales, nothing. it will be part of some media art installation. or at least is intended to be.

Lego has been making some cameras for their Mindstorms which is movement triggered, maybe u should try sending them a mail
