Hi, I'm wondering how to configure a palm pilot (in particular, a Sony Clie TG50) to connect to a 6600 via bluetooth and use it as a GPRS modem?
I've tried the init strings used for a 3650, as well as those the Nokia software installed on my PC. The clie and phone seem to achieve a proper bluetooth connection, but always time out while dialing. What settings should I use to select an access point? What about to make use of the default access point specified in the phone's "GPRS-when available" setting? Thanks so much! P.S.: Has anyone else noticed that Nokia's bluetooth PC software is almost unbearably bad? In case anyone from Nokia software is reading this, here's a hint: Try OPENING a serial port before checking to see if a device is connected to it. That way the bluetooth hardware's driver knows, from the attempt to open the virtual port, to go out and make a bluetooth connection with the device. |

I have used a GPRS connection with my Nokia 6310 and my 3Com bluetooth card.
You just create a standard dial-up connection as before and instead of putting in the phone number use *99#. This causes the phone to use the default GPRS settings and connect. Nokia have good information available here http://www.nokia.ie/nokia/0,8764,29314,00.html |

I suppose if I was having trouble connecting my 6600 to a 3com bluetooth card, that would have been a very helpful answer.
My 6600 connects just peachy to my 3com bluetooth card. It also connects quite well to the palm pilot - the problem is in getting the palm to connect to GPRS through the phone. Has anyone gotten a palm to talk to a 6600 as a GPRS modem? |

Yes, I have. I have a palm VX and I use a bluetooth cradle. I just used the same setup as my dial-up and replaced the phone number with *99# as I described above.
