Is it possible to use non-Nokia BT card (e.g. Xircom) to create BT connection between mobile and PC Suite 4.5a?
Is it necessary to install Nokia BT software suite in advance? I cannot find the download for it. Thx Josef Vagner Posted by Josef Vagner, jvagner@microsoft.com on April 30, 2002 at 17:25 |

on May 03, 2002 at 17:23 I have a com one1 bluetooth card in my PC and am struggling with the same problem. I think the software PC Suite 4.5a is not up to date, but better than the version 4.5 When I setup the 4.5a software with cable connection it finds a com4 (virtual com port made by the bluetooth software) where the phone is attached to, but you can only choose between com1 and com2 in the settings. |

The Nokia Connection manager do not support other Virtual Com ports than Nokias own. Therefore it is not possible to connect Nokia phones to any seriel software, even if the comply to the MS Windows standard Virtual com port.
This problem now affects new interfaces and the accompanying software. Latest the Bluetooth standard. Nokia PC Connections manager is YEARS old, and still not compatible with the rest of the world. /Henrik |
