From reading several other forums as well as this one, I am comming to the conclusion that the DTL-1 card is not fully BT complient. It seems to ONLY work with the BT Battery that comes in the Connectivity Pack.

The Battery seems like it is fully compliant as I have several other BT devices and they all work fine with my 6210+Battery Pack....... but none of them work with my laptop with the DTL-1.

What is going on ? how can Nokia release something that is, on one hand, so good (battery) and on the other so bad (DTL-1).

Am seriously regretting buying the connectivity pack - should have gone for just the battery and a 3rd party BT CF Card.

Any one else having the same problems ?

The Nokia Connectivity Card DTL-1 is compliant with Bluetooth specficiation v1.0B. Your message didn't contain information on in which use cases and with which devices you have encountered problems. Could you please clarify it a little?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I use the following hardware:

DLT-1 + Connectivity Pack Battery with 6210
Compaq iPaq 3630 + COmpaq Bluetooth Jacket

Ericsson T39 & T68

I have the DLT-1 card in my laptop (Sony Vaio GR214EP)
My laptop can talk to my 6210 quite happliy, it appears in "Bluetooth Neighborhood" and i can sync with it and use it for DUN.
The Ericsson's and my iPaq dont even appear in "Bluetooth Neighborhood". If i try and initiate communication from either of the ericssons or my ipaq i am prompted for the pass keys and they are accepted. Trying to use Active Sync over BT just fails, Active Sync fails to recognise the other device (ipaq).

Both Ericsson's, My iPaq and my 6210 can all communicate quite happliy.

My main concern is the communiation problems between the DLT-1 in my laptop and my iPaq, the Ericssons belong to a collegue so are not of major importance.

I have tried looking for updated drivers for the DLT-1 but cannot find any. The Digianswers website nolonger exists (Digianswers seem to provide the original drivers and software for the dlt-1).

Having looked for drivers i found myself on the "Socket" bluetooth forum as some people have said that socket provided the basic card for the dlt-1 and that their drivers may work. i cannot find drivers on their site

I have updated the Bluetooth stack on my ipaq with the latest drivers and firmware from compaq - again, the ericssons and my ipaq and my 6210 can all talk but still have the same problems with the DLT-1

Any help would be appreciated. I am very computer literate and have a good technical knowledge of computers so am willing to try and work towards a solution to this problem

Hope we can come up with a solution !

Regards
A Bland

Hi,
Even though you but a third party BT card for your PC, you will not be able to use that for Synch. Take a seat!

Nokia, can only do synch, between their own devices. Nokia can not sync using other than DLT.
DLT are not compatible with other devices.

The case in a nutshell, is that if you want to synch, you need DLT. if you want to do other stuff, you need non DLT.

If I bring this even further.

If you buy Nokia phones, you need TWO BT cards in your PC.

We are many unhappy Nokia users, and Nokia wont even give us an answer or reply that promises us a better solution.

The 6310i is my last Nokia, and i will probably just give it tom my daughter soon. I find it quite useless and i am feeling embarrassed to wear it.

I am using the DTL-1 connectivity pack (with 6210), a Dell L400 (XP Pro) and an ipaq 3600 with the TDK 'Bluepaq' jacket & have managed to get things working (after a LONG slog)

Before doing this, I could connect to my phone, but NOT to the ipaq for activesync etc

There seems to be an issue with the version of the digianswer drivers (the nokia card uses digianswer drivers) or the "Blue Tooth Connection Suite" software, of which Nokia supplies V1.08

So I found that SocketCom are the vendors/suppliers but then things went off track. They informed me that Nokia are supporting their own products, so I assumed a brick wall here

Not So! - I found the Bluetooth Software Suite site has an update to V1.09 here
<aref=http://www.btsws.com/updates/default.asp

However when I downloaded this I was warned by pop-up not to install if I used a Nokia Connectivity Pack as it will not work.

As a last resort and having tried all else, I created a backup of my PC and upgraded using the BTSWS V1.09 patch above. Everything now works fine. (I suspect some commercials have not been resolved between SocketCom or Digianswers and Nokia)

I cannot guarantee that this will be the case with all devices, but it solved my problem with no adverse affects.

I am happy, but Nokia should sort it's support on this product swiftly, it's VERY confusing. Basically I got no help from Nokia, despite calling them several times "all lines busy, someone will call you back" etc etc

In General it seems that SocketCom are going to take over Nokia's support - see the following link to SocketComs' Bluetooth support forum

http://www.socketforum.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=473

and this one, to an announcement regarding Nokia support

http://www.socketcom.com/support/transfer_nokia.htm

Hope this helps

Andy
