Hi all,

When I play a wave file it blocks the entire animation for about 1 second and plays it (it doesn't matter if I do it in a seperate thread or in the main thread).

How can I avoid it?

does this still occur, when you init the sound first and then call only the play command?

new Sound(...) command will block, even if it is in a thread, but you have to do it only once. the play command will not block.

however: does anyone know, how do make new Sound(...) not to block? is it possible? and why does it block, even in a thread?

Well, there seems no method to make new Sound(...) not block. I have tried in many ways, even the new Sound(...) is called in a thread which will be created when a boolean flag is true. The block still occured while new Sound(...) is called.

however: is it possible to change play different sound without calling new Sound(...) ?

i am not sure what you mean. of course it is possible to init different sounds and play them with play-method within a class, but you can only play one sound at the time...

Thank you. I just want to play different sounds but only one at the time.
I find that if I have a sound, no matter wave or midi, start playing it in frequent, not every time I call it can play. The case is similar to a flight game, not everytime playing the bomb effect can success.
