Bluetooth- Theortical vs pratical speed -

can anybody tell me if they have actually goten close to the theortical bluetooth speed with a mobile phone with a virtual com port? the fastest ive recorded mine at was about 200-300kbps (but i dont know how accurate that is.
is there any way to improve this speed? im using a 6600 with a level 1 bluetooth dongle running XP
