Hi there,
I get the following error on the Nokia 6820 phone if I try to pair it with my iPAQ PDA "Pairing and Conn. rejected for security reasons" but can't find any description for this error. This happens after entering the passkey on both devices. Anybody can tell me what's wrong? Thanks in advance Tom |

Your Ipaq does not support the use of a combination key for pairing. this type of key is more secure and is the recommended key type for use in the most current BT spec. Widcomm, the software developer for bluetooth used on your Ipaq is aware of this and has informed HP of this, unfortuantely HP doesn't think much of its customers and is not updating the lower end Iaqs to correct this.

Hi there,
found this link today, looks like HP is working on a fix and some already have a beta version. http://www.expansys.fr/forumthread.a...d=78&man=NOKIA scroll to: spider933 04:23 19 Avr 04 "I have a beta patch that can solve the 2210 bluetooth connectivity with nokia 6230. tried and works..." The security issue is identical for Nokia 6230 and 6820 and iPAQ 19xx and 22xx. It's a problem in the iPAQ BT firmware. |

The Beta fix from HP works well in my ipaq 2210 (connected via Bluetooth to a Nokia 6820).
You can download it direct from the following; http://www.expansys.com/i/drv/hpbt.zip |
