how to start -

I've just begun with Bluetooth and all this. I've read a lot about layers, profiles.. But now, I want to start. I want to do an application in java and I just don't know how to start.
I couldn't find a page with a list of steps and all the things to download and to do. I need an emulator but... what do I have to do?? Can you please help me? Aran
