hi..
I have an image with black letters written over yellow back ground.Plz tell me how to Extract the black letters and remove the yellow back ground using J2me.

You cannot remove pixels from an Image in standard J2ME.

What you should do instead is to code your own font.

something like this:

public void drawString(string s, Graphics g)
{
for (int i=0; i<s.length(); i++)
{
if (s.charAt(i) == 'a')
{
g.drawLine(0, 0, 4, 0);
g.drawLine(4, 0, 4, 4);
........
}
}
}

I know this isn't funny to do, but it's the only way if you don't want to use standard fonts in the phone.

Oh, and one other solution is to have an image per letter and draw the image...

a.png
b.png
....


If you're going for this solution you should use some technique to join all the png images into one big binary file and then read this file in the midlet and extract each letter image. You'll save alot of jar-space that way.
