Hey guys,

The 3650 has a 'silent' profile which disables the phone's ringing and such. Java apps that try to play .wav files with com.nokia.mid.sound.Sound in 'silent mode' are muted. However, when my java app plays .amr files through the MMAPI, they aren't muted in silent mode. This seems like a bug.

Do you guys know any way to detect whether silent mode is on?

I've tried a number of things to detect it, including checking gain, PlayerListener callbacks, checking supported formats, and everything in VolumeControl, but they don't seem to work any differently in silent mode.

I seem to remember, although I'm not sure about this and I could be wrong (I'm not at the office so I can't test it), the the Nokia Sound API throws an Exception when you try to play a sound in silent mode. If this is true then you could use that to test for silent mode.
