Hello,
I want to develop an application using the Bluetooth SIM Access Profile with the Nokia 6230 (FW 03.15). I made a serial connection to various serial Bluetooth ports of the 6230 (COM1, DUN, PCSuite; SAP), but the 6230 doesn't answer to the commands described in the SAP Spec V 0.95. Connections to the SAP Channel are diconnected immediately by the phone. Do I have to initialise the SAP Mode? I tried to find an appropriat AT Command with this document: AT Command Set For Nokia GSM And WCDMA Products v1.1 (http://ncsp.forum.nokia.com/csp/?body=detail;aid=11579) but I found nothing. Also I tried to find some Informations about SAP in this forum, but there are only a few postings. How does the Nokia 610 connect to the 6230 SAP? I dont want to buy a 610 only for Reverse Engineering ... Kind Regards Frank Meyering

I am also interested in this. How can we get to the 6230 SAP profile? Is anybody out there have a test app doing it from Windows?
Thanks, Joe |

Hi,
if found the solution for this problem. I used a USB Stick from CSR with a firmware supporting 56 bit encryption. But the Nokia requires 128 Bit encryption (and 16 character PIN) for SAP connections (at least in Germany). Unfortunately CSR (and all OEMS as far as I know) are delivering 56 bit encryption firmware as default. After asking CSR for an appropriate firmware, capable of 128 bit encryption, ther was no problem connecting to the SAP Profile of the phone (please make sure to flash the correct OEM Firmware into your product i case you are using CSR Hardware!). The phone shows "Remote SIM Mode" in the display and transfering the PDUs described in the SAP Spec is straight forward. Kind Regards Frank Meyering |
