I'm completely new to Java and I'm not sure where to post this message.
I currently have a Nokia 6310i (which supports Bluetooth) and a HP iPAQ 2210 with Bluetooth. So far I have created an application in eVB to listen for text coming through the COM port (and Bluetooth) this works fine when I use my laptops bluetooth to send it, but I'd like to do this with the 6310i. I've installed the Nokia PC Suite and sucessfully installed sample Java applications off the Internet over bluetooth. I've also installed the Nokia 6310i MIDP SDK but I've no idea what to do with it. Before I start messing around with it, I want to know if it's possible do build an application that can connect to the iPAQ and send/recieve text from the bluetooth port on the Nokia. I'd also like to know what program is best to do this. Thanks |

Can you confirm if the phone supports JSR82. Even though the phone has bluetooth the phone must support the JSR82 in order to develop custom BT applications.

I've got no idea what JSR82 is, let alone if it supports it.

Only these phones support JSR-82 as per my 5 hours of research:
NOKIA 6260 NOKIA 6630 BENQ P31 NOKIA 7610 NOKIA 9500 PANASONIC X700 NOKIA 6620 Siemens SX1 Nokia 6600 SonyEricsson P900 NOKIA 7700 NOKIA 6255 NOKIA 6230 Hopefully, there are many more to come in the near future as the JSR-82 API opens up a lot of new usage possiblilties for the phone. |
