As per the known issues log, both the Java and native Nokia API's for making the device vibrate or flash the backlight are not active for the series 60 line of phones. Questions:

1. Does this apply to ring tones as well?
2. Can someone from Nokia comment on if this will be remedied on all future versions of series 60 phones (w/ target date?).
3. Any suitable workarounds for this? I need the phone to vibrate at certain junctures otherwise my applicaiton is useless.

Thank you.

I know that the following line makes the 6230i vibrate:
AlertType.ALARM.playSound(display);

But I guess that depends on the profile settings on the phone.
