We have a 6200. We have developed a game that we would like to place in the Games area on the phone. Yet, when we download it via OTA, it automatically goes to the Application area.
Does anyone have any idea how we can prevent this and to get the game to download into the right area.

There is a document called "Installing_MIDlets_into_the_Games_Menu_of_Nokia_Devices_v1_0_en.pdf" on forum.nokia.com, I think it can help you. In a few words, you have to write this line in JAD file:
Nokia-MIDlet-Category: Game
So, when midlet downloaded via OTA, it will be placed in Games menu.
But it works not for all Nokia phones, for example series 60 doesn't support this feature.

Thanks for the information. Also, are you saying that with Series 60 all games are installed into the Application folder? Or is there another technique that you can use install games into the Games folder?

For all nokia phones, if you download over the air and if you have the jad entry already mentioned, then the application will end up under the games menu.

In all other cases (bluetooth, infra-red, cable) it will end up under the application menu regardless of if you have the jad entry.

The document indicated above says:
"Basically, all Nokia devices that belong to Developer Platform 1.0 for Series 40 support the Nokia-MIDlet-Category: Game attribute, whereas all Nokia devices that belong to Developer Platform 1.0 for Series 60 do not support it. Note that support of the game attribute may vary between device firmware, and in some devices, game MIDlets are installed into the Games menu’s More games submenu instead of the Games menu itself. Some of the current Nokia devices supporting the Nokia-MIDlet-Category: Game attribute are presented in Table 1. You will find the latest information about Nokia phones that support Java technology at http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices and www.forum.nokia.com/java -> Java Phones.
Series 40
Nokia 3100 Nokia 3200 Nokia 3300 Nokia 3510i Nokia 5100 Nokia 6100 Nokia 6610 Nokia 6650 Nokia 6800 Nokia 7210 Nokia 7250 Nokia 8910i
