well, i've finally made really successful file transfers to my 6230. the problem? well, its NOT the mobile phone, but NOKIA PC SUITE! i was using the latest 6.4 version of pc suite.
how did i find out? well i have friend with a 3.15 firmware and mine is 4.43. she was using w2k sp4 while i was using win xp pro sp2. we both use msi btoes dongle. she installed the driver from the packaged cd of the btoes, while i used the latest driver for sp2. for the file transfer tests, well we transfered a modified mp3 (medley type) that is 7mb in size. to my surprise, it turned out to be perfect! we did more file transfers and well, everythings well :P from those instances, i was able to conclude that the NOKIA PC SUITE is the culprit! NOT the mobile phone... this goes for the firmware 3.15 and 4.43. i don't know for other versions. problems right now: for windows xp sp2 with the new msi driver: - you cannot use your windows explorer to browse through your mobile phone memory and mmc - you cannot create playlists - you can only transfer one file at a time since you have to transfer it using the bluetooth file transfer wizard for windows xp sp1 and other older windows versions with the old msi bluetooth driver: - you cannot create playlists the only benefit that i saw from the old driver is that you can transfer several files at a time since you can view your phone memory and mmc using the windows explorer |
