Hi dear friends,
I am a student, and have to do my thesis project to graduate. The project is to set up voice communication between PC and mobile phone using bluetooth. After reading through this forum, I found almost all topics about this either have no answers or negative one. So I want to make sure: Is it impossible to do my project with any types of handset, like Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens etc? No model is possible? Any suggestions for me will be very appreciated. If absolutely negative, I will go to professor to say this is an infeasible project now, though it's boasting as the future of bluetooth. I should change one project as soon as possible if I still want to graduate in time. Thanks in advance Amy |

Hi Amy,
Thought I'd give my 2 cents on your project since you helped me with mine. I was looking through the Bluetooh Spec 2.0 - on page 191 - 196 it has information about audio coding and types of codec used. It seems that CVSD is to be used for bidirectional audio signals, or log PCM. Either way, it seems that voice can definately be implemented, so I would tell your professor that it can be done. Are you going to have voice going to and from the phone / pc? Or just having data going in one direction? Using a program to capture speech from the microphone and then sending it over bluetooth should surely be feasable. |

Hi Amy,
I'm also a student and I'm trying to do voice SIP over an GPRS network for my graduation thesis. The basic idea is to connect to SIP phone to a SIP proxy server and then to another SIP phone. Some ideas? Best Regards Norberto |

i have thought about this as a thesis topic also.. i do believe it's possible though i haven't any clues about how can this be implemented yet..

I think it must be posible, then Motorola is now developing an cel phone with Skype and Siemens is developing an Cordless phone also with Skype. The idea is to develop an SIP Agent softphone for an cel phone.

Please use SIP VoIP

I tried to use VoIP/SIP. Main problem was: getting a connection different from GPRS. I installed software to get a data connection over bluetooth. It was possible to use the internet on the phone over bluetooth.
Any idea to get the data connection over bluetooth? |
