Hello there!

I installed Python for Series 60 on my WinXP machine but no matter what I do or which version I install I don't seem to find py2sis.

I don't get any error when installing but at the end the Python folder only contains the Uninstall files and the Documentation.

I also installed the Symbian SDK (to get makesis and the other tools) but nothing changed.

I actually "unzipped" the Python installer and found where the py2sis files are, but when I try to run them I only get an error from "makesis" saying "invalid source file" (but py2sis doesn't leave any temporary files around).

Did anybody have the same problem ?

Thanks!

Default location for "py2sis" is:

C:\Nokia\Tools\Python_for_Series_60\py2sis

There is no icon for "py2sis" in Windows "Start" menu.

Installation order should be:

1) Series 60 SDK and
2) Python for Series 60.

Notice the different versions offered for different SDKs.

I can't seem to find py2sis at that location.

I have a Siemens SX1, so I installed the version of Python for Series 60 1.2, could it be that py2sis isn't included in that version for some reason?

..or is my install not complete for some reason?

I have to admit that I first installed the Python SDK, but I did uninstall it and install the Symbian SDK first then the Python SDK (and I made sure I installed matching versions).

Still the only files in the Python SDK folder are the Docs and the Uninstaller.

Thanks!

No py2sis for me too

Installed the SDK: s60_2nd_fp2_sdk_msb.zip

Installed the Python SDK: PythonForSeries60_SDK_2ndEdFP2.zip

... and no py2sis in c:\nokia\* or the Python_for_Series_60 directory or somewhere near c:\.

Details:
- Win2k
- SDKs in a non standard path (C:\Dev\Mobile\Nokia\...)
- Python_for_Series_60_Platform_1.0_(SDK_2nd_ed._FP2)_InstallLog.log does not contain traces of py2sis being installed

.:Marf:.

--Edit--

I found it:

1) Unzipped the Python installer (Python_1_0_for_Series60_SDK_2nd_ed_FP2.exe)

2) Found it in:
InstallerData\Disk1\InstData\py2sis.zip
and the same zip file in:
InstallerData\Disk1\InstData\Resource1.zip
again (why?)

3) Tried it briefly ... seems to work, no errors, sis file created
