I just couldn't get the SDK to install properly so that I got my py2sis so I extracted the files from the installer. Unfortunately running this gives me the error that the 'uidcrc utility' could not be found. Weird since the following two locations (containing uidcrc.exe) are in my path environment variable:

1. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symbian\tools
2. C:\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2\epoc32\tools

If needed, which one should I kick out?

Anyway, is there anybody here that got py2sis working in the following environment?:

- WinXP
- s60_2nd_fp2_sdk_msb
- PythonForSeries60_SDK_2ndEdFP2

I installed everything in the right order (couple of times), but there is no py2sis showing up anywhere. Pity, instead of hacking a quick demo in Python (to convince my boss) I've spent my times setting up the environment.

Just to be sure: are you able to execute "uidcrc" in the same place where you execute "py2sis" (i.e. in command prompt)?

Yes, I can execute 'uidcrc' from that location, but I do get the following error when doing so:

See the release notes of your SDK, e.g.

Additional Requirements:

- Active Perl 5.6.1 build 531 for SDK build tools. Newer or older
versions of Perl may not be fully compatible with Symbian toolchain.
Perl must be installed before using the SDK to build applications.

Where do i can find the activeperl 5.6.1 build 531?I can't find this version in www.activestate.com

Just pick release that is close enough.
