I have a RS232 bluetooth dongle ( Promi SD101) which supports Generic Access Profile and Serial Port Profile. I want to use this dongle to access the bluetooth modem in Nokia 6230.
I wish to make data calls by using the AT commands (ATD <phone number>). The two devices discover each other and get connected. But when I use the Hyperterminal to send the AT commands to Nokia phone via the dongle, bluetooth connection between them is lost. The two devices get disconnected from the bluetooth connection. I am unable to talk to the phone at all. Is this a problem related to the bluetooth profiles not supported by the dongle? If so, do you have any suggestions for resolving this issue ? Thanks |

Related to the profiles - you need to use Dial-Up Networking Profile (DUN) when sending AT commands to the phone.

Thanks Seppo for the reply. The bluetooth RS232 dongle does not support the DUN profile. Do you have any suggestions for emulating the DUN profile onto the dongle?

No ideas of that. You should probably consult the vendor of the dongle.
