I have the Nokia CK-7W handsfree kit fitted to my car which works perfectly with my wifes Nokia 6260.However whenever i try to use it with my Xda II which supposedly has bluetooth1.1 support built in, I find that I can form a bond with the carkit ,but get no further functionality -no connection etc.Is this the norm ?and if so is it possible to upgrade my Xda version to allow correct operation.

First it is worth checking whether your device supports the Handsfree Profile (the Headset profile is not enough when communicating with carkits).

I have the same problem with the palmOne Treo 650. The tech spec on the Treo states:
"The Treo 650 smartphone's Bluetooth 1.1 implementation supports these Bluetooth profiles: GAP (Generic Access Profile: core Bluetooth support) HSP (Headset Profile: answer/end calls, make outgoing calls, adjust volume) HFP (Hands-Free Profile: reject call, mute, auto-answer, voice tags, last number redial) SPP (Serial Port Profile: Bluetooth support for serial data connections, treating Bluetooth links as virtual COM ports) GOEP (Generic Object Exchange Protocol: vCal, vCard and other files exchanged with Bluetooth devices) " From reading other forums it seems the CK-7W "echo" is a common problem. |
