Hi,

I have just bought and installed a bluetooth dongle to be precise it's an MSI dongle model MS-6967. After connecting to the pc and installing all necessary software it's working fantastic but when I try to configure the bluetooth connection in the nokia pc suite I'm being given an error as following:

Cannot use the connection type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available.

I even downloaded and installed the latest version of nokia pc suite i.e. 6.4 but I am still receiving the same error.

Can someone please HELP me? I would really appreciate it.

Fisrt of all thanks alot for your answer.

I don't have any of the sofware mentioned in the site. The software I have is bluesoleil which came with my dongle.

If this is the problem can you please direct me from where I can buy or download one of the other softwares.

Thanks alot for your help.

First make a quick check that you have the correct PC Suite for your phone. Older Series 60 phones do not support Nokia PC Suite 6.4 (7650, 36x0, 6600) but they have separate phone specific PC Suites.

From Nokia 6620 and 7610 onwards the PC Suite 6.4 is
supported.

All Series 40 phones support PC Suite 6.4.

Yes its supposed to be supported by both phones. I own a 6260 and a 7610 according to the site both are compatible with the 6.4 version.

Thankyou all for helping me out with this problem. Finally I got the hang of it and everything is working fine.

To others who might have my same problem I managed to solve it by following step by step the instructions found on this page:
http://www.brobin111.blogspot.com/

It seems that my problem was the fact that the dongle only came packaged with the blue soleil software (and no widcomm software) which for some weired reason thus not seem to be compatible with the nokia pc suite.

So if anyone has my same problem go take a look to this site, if for some reason you cannot access it, leave a note in this tread or pm me cause I have a copy saved on my pc.

Thanks a million for all your help.
