Hi,
how can I configure the NCF BT USB Adapter and a Series 60 emulator to work with a BT USB Dongle?

I tried using BT USB, P2P Library and Virtual Serial Port but when launching the searching of devices all get blocked!!!

Help!

Exactly my question. When I set the BT USB Adapter to BTUSB with HCI UART Transport Layer (H4) and the S40 DP20 SDK to P2P Library with HCI UART Transport Layer (H4), no error messages appear, no bluetooth specific logs are written (except one: "Started BT USB Adapter Integration"), and bluetooth is not available to the running environment.

Using the S40 DP20 SDK with a Virtual Serial Port, I get a warning: "Nokia Connectivity Framework could not get a MAC address.". again, no bluetooth specific logs come up and bluetooth is not available.

So what are the settings needed to get an SDK work with the BT USB Adapter?

I receive no error even with Virtual COM but in the system properties the addresses used by the Virtual COM are in conflict with Bus PCI...

Hi,

I use SDK 2nd Ed. FP2 and BT USB Dongle. The setting in emulator is Virtual Serial Port COM3 (Propertis->Technology Bluetooth) and Content Type is HCI UART Transport Layer (H4).
BT USB adapter has Communication technology BTUSB and Content Type is also HCI UART Transport Layer (H4).
It's work correctly. For example, I can see other BT devices in office, but NCF is not stable (sometimes "freeze").

Hello !!

I have Nokia Series 60 Emulator (Symbian 7.0 ber 2 for C++ ) Installed. I want to develop an application for communication using bluetooth technology. Now, please tell me how can i simulate bluetooth communication on the PC. I have installed Nokia Connectivity Framework(NFC) but my bluetooth is not turned on in the Emulator. I try to turn on the bluetooth connectivity but the screen immediately appears away.
Any suggestion ???

Hi infestaction:-

You follow the simple procedure for the problem u mentioned:

1) Download SDK v1.2 ( I had the same problem on v2.0 but it was removed later). However use v1.2 initially.

2) Download NCF & this will allow you to create virtual com ports and u can communicate through this virtual port to any bluetooth gps device.

Both are available for download here forum.nokia.com/tools

I hope it works ...

Tanks but it didn’t help.

Ill describe my problem, I’m using Nokia Series 40 SDK V1.1.
And Nokia connectivity framework 1.2.

The problem is that the NCF just doesn’t work.

When I open two emulator and what to Call, or send SMS one-to-other.
It simply doesn’t do any thing. I’m using Nokia 6230.
And the number looks like this. 6230011…..

I detect in some screenshots that I’ve seen, a symbol is shone in the top left corner ((o)), but, not in my emulator.

I try to switch on the BT and it doesn’t work.

I hope you can help me….

Tks in advance

I have same problem. I use NCF 1.2 and SDK Series 60 version 2.1. My Emulator (urel) can not see my phone (Nokia 6600), my phone also not able to see my USB Bluetooh dongle.

I have tried to set I/O port manually on resorcess tab inside my device manager (WinXP), but still does not work.

any suggest ?
