Hello All,
I am trying to put together a platform for developing applications for Symbian OS on Nokia phones. I am having a very difficult time trying to find the right board to use for development. Can someone point me in the direction of a board that supports Symbian based development? Something with an existing Board Support Package for Symbian ... with a JTAG debug interface? I cannot understand why I get such a run around from vendors here in the US. This cannot be this difficult ... people all over must be using a development board prior to hosting software on a Nokia phone. Thanks in advance, Mike Gaughan |

There are no off-the-shelf reference boards for Symbian in general for developers/ISVs.
Developers usually use the emulator and actual, commercially available phones (or, e.g., through the Forum Nokia PRO, possibly also pre-release/prototype phones: http://pro.forum.nokia.com/). There are reference implementations (or such are being developed) for Nokia Series 60 phones, but those are intended for phone manufacturers: http://press.nokia.com/PR/200402/935424_5.html http://press.nokia.com/PR/200202/849083_5.html http://press.nokia.com/PR/200402/935427_5.html http://press.nokia.com/PR/200410/963062_5.html |
