I have been having a lot of trouble with getting small audio 3gp objects to play on a 6620.

The error returned on 'prefetch()' or 'play()' is 'Symbian OS Error: -2' which basically indicates an unknown error.

Playback works ok if there is a video component (with mime type video/3gpp), but the second I remove the video component and change the mime type to audio/3gpp, the -2 error is returned.

The file is being retrieved from a website. I've tried downloading the entire file into a byte array and using a ByteArrayInputStream as well as just providing the InputStream from the Connector.

I have also tried mp3 files with audio/mpeg, 3gp files with aac at various bitrates and sample rates and 3gp with amr and mp4 files with aac.

Again, these files will work ok if there is a video component (with the video mime type) but will fail the second only audio is in the file (with audio mime type). I believe an OS Error: -5 is returned if i try to play an audio file with a 'video/3gpp' mime type.

Anyone else figured out how to get encoded audio only files to work (not wav, midi or au)?
