I have created a mostly compatible clone of py2sis for Linux and other UNIX-like platforms, called py2sisng. You can download it at:

In addition to features found in the original py2sis, py2sisng supports package versioning, application icons and multi-language captions.

py2sisng uses template files from the original py2sis. Instructions on how to extract and install the templates are provided in the accompanying README file.

Uh, not using Windows was the primary reason for me to create py2sisng. I have no Windows machines or development tools at my disposal, and the original py2sis should fill the needs of a casual Python for Series 60 programmer on the Windows platform, anyway.
