I currently have the Parrot CK3100 car kit that uses Bluetooth technology to synchronize the phone's phonebook with this device.
I have been able to successfully pair the phone with the car kit and make/receive calls. The only feature not working is the automatic synchronization of the phonebook between the devices. This has worked perfectly with other GSM Bluetooth phones (6230 for instance), but not for this CDMA phone. Speaking with the Tec support from the car kit manufacturer, he suggests that I install Nokia's contact synchronization SW for the 810 car kit from Nokia, since this SW is compatible with the car kit SW. I found a couple of 810 synchronization SW on this Nokia site -> http://www.europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,,42796,00.html There is no mention that it is for this particular phone 6255, but I'm willing to give it a try, unless someone tells me otherwise. It is a .SYS application, so my question is: how do I install it on my 6255 phone? I've successfully transferred the file into my phone via infrared, but it seems that the phone does not recognize this file type. Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Fernando |

Maybe with the PC Suite Application Installer (http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite).

I have downloaded the newer version of Nokia PC Suite and at least know the application installer recognizes the Symbian (.SYS) application.
The problem is that apparently my phone Noia 6255 will not accept this type of application. The only applications I see on the phone are .JAR applications. Does anyone know if/how I can make this phone accept Symbian applications? Thanks |

I don't know what .SYS files are, but Symbian files are .SIS (Symbian Installation System). And as your phone is not based on Symbian, it cannot run Symbian applications.

I meant to say .SIS file. What you're saying then is that 6255 will not be able to run this application ?
Do you know if there is any way that I can push/send the contacts on my phone via bluetooth to another device? thanks |
