Have reviewed all posts that appeared relevant but still unable to get my 6600 and PC Suite to communicate. 6600 is recognized but that as far as I get. Should say that have been unable to figure out how to enter the code I enter into PC Suite into the 6600.

If any other info required, e.g., 6600 firmware/OS rev levels, please let me know how to get them.

Thanks

You can't use any PC Suite 6.* version with the 6600 at all, I'm afraid. For the 6600 use its own PC Suite: http://europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,42289,00.html

Thanks Petrib. Really appreciate your help. Even though needed to (un)install the PC Suite supporting the 6600 a couple of times and though sequence and instructions re pairing, selecting COM ports, etc. incredibly non-intuitive/logical, have finally been able to make a backup of my 6600.

So thanks again. Hope you can help with one final thing. My overall objective has been to save data (text messages saved in "My Folders", images and audio/vid clips) I wanted to keep before moving to a new phone (the 8800). While would be convenient, OK if as I suspect when I have to install latest version of PC Suite will find cannot transfer saved 6600 data to the 8800.

So assuming that ends up being the situation (1) will installing latest PC Suite preserve my 6600 backup and (2) is there any way to open and view the 6600 backup files. Specifically the text messages as prior to your help had 'backed' up images and audio/video by e-mailing the files to myself. Considering the number of them, believe backup texts are .DAT files but not sure what the issue is as file sizes would indicate that not compressed but unable to open with Notepad.
