Hello
I signed midlet by myself and I installed on nokia 6680. Before midlet installing I installed my own certificate on mobile phone. Midlet was installed as Trusted third party. Now I can choose between "not allowed", "always ask", "ask once", "always allowed" in midlet read/write user data settings (previous i had only "not allowed" and "always ask". I've setted to "always allowed", but it seems it doesn't work as I expected. When I open for example ContactList using PIM.openPIMList(....) there is no security promt (it works fine for me), but when I try delete/add/update option secutity manager always ask me for aproving this operation. Is there any way to solve this problem?

Do a search on this forum – this seems to be usual behaviour although I have not tested myself.

Well I did some search on this forum and I think that I it doesn't look good. It seems that any third party certificates are useless. I don't know how it works with fileconnection API. Probbably when you wan't to delete or write file there will be also security prompt. Is anyone knows if manufacturer or operator certificate can resolve this problem?? If yes , how to get this certifikate.

You will need a valid certificate from a code signing authoruty such as verisign etc. The certificates are not that expensive and will solve your prompt problems, just add the permission in the build properties.

Thanks morash for reply. Are you absolutly sure that it will be work? As I said when I installed midlet signed by my self ewverything was ok and midlet was installed as "trusted third part". After setting security option to always allowed, all "read" promt was dissapeared, as I expected. There was also some improvement when I updated, added, deleted PIMitem, (1 security promt instead 2), "allow aplication to write user data ?" was disapeared but not "Update .... " promt.
